A a smiling face, a fireplace, a cosy room A little nest that nestles where roses bloom Something Sabina never knew. She listened to Gene Austin quite a bit of late. He sang of love and loss, and feelings she never had and possibly never would experience. It was the life of a Dark Shadowhunter. They were cold and calculated, saw feelings of love and familiarity as weakness. If the Mundane world was a different place, the Mundane world in the 1920's was a different planet. Even Shadowhunter's had come a long way since then. Though Sabina did enjoy her life, and knew that their purpose was a just and noble one, she often wondered what a normal life for her would have entailed. If she had been born in a different place, in a different time to a different family. Would she still be the person she was today, She was a strong, prideful woman, not delicate or sweet or mild mannered like these perfectly proper women that Gene Austin sang about in his songs. Sabina dreaded the thought of a patriarchal society, where woman would tend to the house and the children. She was by no means a feminist, each to his own, some women were born to be wives and mothers, just not her. Sabina sat up in her bed and turned off the music. It was strange what emotions and thought music could provoke in people. The most random and unrelated things. Imagining a lifestyle long gone and situations never to be experienced. She pulled on a jumper over her nightdress and a pair of boots and headed to the kitchen. It must have been five or six in the morning, and the place was still asleep. She put on a pot of coffee and cracked the kitchen window. It was a warm morning, a welcome change to the weather they had been getting lately. The birds in the surrounding area were wide awake and singing away. Sabina rubbed her tired eyes and sat on the kitchen counter beside the window. The warm morning air and smell of coffee filled the room as people began to stir in the big old house..

Hailey could barely believe the week she had had. She hadn't been able to return to the circle headquarters because of how much havoc was being wreaked up at the Gard from Aline Penhallow's death and her family looking for answers. Hailey knew that if Jia Penhallow made another appeal to the Council to press even further into Aline Penhallow's death, she would probably end up on the case since most of the other members were older and abhorred visiting New York.
"Although this does give me an excuse to head over to New York," Hailey mumbled to herself as she walked into the decrepit manor the Circle was using for it's new hideout. She was careful not to make too much sound, seeing how it was fairly early and most people would only just be waking up if not still asleep. Asher had still been asleep when Hailey went to check up on him, and she knew he'd probably stay so for another few hours.
The smell of coffee distracted her, and Hailey headed into the kitchen to see Sabina sitting on the counter. She also spotted a box of granola bars and grabbed one as a response to the gnawing in her stomach.
"Good morning," Hailey said, looking down at the bar curiously. Chocolate chip, the one kind she wasn't really fond of.

Sabina yawned widely as the first person awake entered the kitchen. She didn't know her particularly well, which was strange for Sabina, she usually took it upon herself to know the ins and outs of everyone she came across. She felt it was extremely important to know ones surroundings, and there was nothing more harsh and changeable than people. Especially the kind of people the Circle attracted, usually anger ridden and out for revenge for one reason or another. No time like the present, she thought, pouring herself a coffee. 'Hailey, isn't it?' Sabina asked, watching as Hailey examined a granola bar. She was quite a plain looking girl, nothing particularly exceptional about her appearance. The height of Sabina's knowledge on this girl was that she had come with a brother, but besides that she wasn't entirely sure what their deal was. She took her coffee over to the kitchen table and sat down. The dew grass outside the window was twinkling in the early morning light. It looked as if the stars had fallen from the sky during the night and landed on the front lawn. Sabina made a mental note to go for a jog around the grounds later. She had been doing the majority of her training inside and had yet to explore the surrounding fields.

Hailey nodded as she opened the granola bar wrapper.
"Hailey Lowell," She affirmed, before taking a small bite of the granola bar and looking around the kitchen. Her and Sabina were the only one's up so far, which wasn't so strange. She had gotten up at an obscene time to come down and do a check in of sorts, just to see what was going on.
She watched Sabina get a cup of coffee and sit down, and sniffed. Hailey loved coffee, but she hadn't had the time to make any this morning in hopes of trying to slip out while Asher was asleep. She hesitated a moment before finally grabbing a mug and pouring herself some coffee, and remained standing. She leaned slightly on the counter, and looked out the window.
"It's gorgeous outside at this time," She noted, drinking her coffee. "Everything's untouched and peaceful."

'Yeah..' Sabina replied, idly swirling the dregs of her coffee around the bottom of the cup. She noticed some slight discoloration around her knuckles. Some bruising from her most recent training. She did have a tendency to take training a bit too seriously. While they were learning real life skills, Sabina was a bit, ruthless, for lack of a better word, and often sent her combatants away battered and bruised. She had recently taken to building strenght against the punching bags, it was a great way to relieve tension, if you didn't mind sore knuckles afterwards. Sabina had no shortage of tension lately and having an outlet was great. While she understood it was important for the circle to lay low and keep off the radar for the time being, she truly hated being cooped up in the manor awaiting instruction. It wasn't forbidden to leave, as long traffic was at a minimum, and everyone was absolutely sure they could not be traced back to this building, or to Jonathan, but it wasn't had Sabina had much more to do out in the world than she had here. She had no family, or anyone she could truly call a friend. Cain was her only real confidant, and he was here. There was nothing for her out there. 'You're up early, Hailey Lowell.' She said, massaging her tender knuckles as she spoke. Her skin didn't bruise particularly easy, it must have been some pummeling.

Hailey smiled softly, and took a sip of her coffee. She put down her granola bar on the counter, sure that the small bite she took would be enough for a while. She could always go home and eat if needed.
She shrugged. "I haven't been able to come around here all week because of the confusion up at the Gard as of late, and decided to drop in and see if anything of import was occurring."
Watching Sabina massage her knuckles, Hailey saw the bruises littering them. She raised an eyebrow, but chalked it up to tough training on the shadowhunters part. It wasn't uncommon for their kind to bruise from training; Hailey herself had suffered from nasty bruising and broken bones when she was younger and keen to please her mother.
"You're up early as well Sabina," Hailey said, trailing off at the end. "I'm not familiar with your last name, I'm sorry to say."
